Jewellery Making Courses
Metal clay courses
Precious Metal Clay (also known as pmc, silver clay or Artclay) is a relatively new and innovative product which enables you to make real silver jewellery without the need for expensive specialist equipment.
Silver Clay consists of fine particles of silver suspended in an organic binder, which has the consistency and properties of traditional clay.
It can be rolled, stamped, textured, folded and molded to create a wide array of shapes and designs. Once dry the clay is fired under intense heat, the binder burns away, leaving you with a perfect piece of jewellery in solid 99.9% pure fine silver.
All you need is a table, a good light, a few basic tools (some of which can be found in your kitchen drawer) and a good imagination!
At Silverwood Jewellery you will find a range of courses to suit everyone, from the complete beginner to the more advanced jewellery maker wanting to learn new techniques. Class sizes are small and the courses can often be tailored to your specific needs. At the end of the course you will go away with a piece of jewellery or more to enjoy and show off to friends and family.
All classes are taught in my home studio in a very relaxed and informal setting with a ready supply of coffee and biscuits!
I do have a very friendly and nosy cat who will quite often pop in to examine whatever it is we're working on, so if you don't like cats please let me know in advance so that I can lock her out!!
Silverwood Jewellery holds valid public liability insurance and a recent up to date CRB certificate.
